Mass Communication and Facilitation

LaTosha R. Brown is a dynamic speaker and known for her ability to connect to a range of audiences both domestic and international, from the boardroom to the classroom to those most marginalized and oppressed within our society. It is this authentic ability grounded in her work that galvanizes people to action and make them consistently want to hear her voice. She is a content creator and influencer who inspires people to movement.  Lastly, she is a well noted facilitator leading organizations from ideas to implementation.

Strategic Investment Advising

Having worked with grassroots and organizations with traditional infrastructure across the global south, Truthspeaks has a proven ability to assist donors make strategic investments that will maximize their impact to communities. TruthSpeaks Consulting has led funder tours across the south, exposing donors to organizations doing transformational work. Many of these organizations are often left out of traditional funding conversations; however, through TruthSpeaks commitment to seeing transformation happen in the south, they have been able to bring millions of dollars to these organizations and multiply their impact.

Resource Development

TruthSpeaks is gifted in the area of resource development. Through their creative and unique approach to fundraising, organizations across the south have been equipped with resources that help build capacity, fund programs, implement transformative work in communities, and fulfill strategic planning objectives.

Technical Assistance

TruthSpeaks Consulting has provided much needed capacity building and institutional development expertise to organizations across the south. They have helped organizations develop and implement systems and processes that have expanded their reach, increase their resources, and plan for long term growth. It is through this technical assistance that organizations have realized their full potential in community building, worked collaboratively with other organizations to solve challenges, and amplified their leadership socially and politically.

LaTosha R. Brown

Position: CEO and Founder

LaTosha R. Brown is the visionary founder of the Southern Black Girls and Women’s Consortium. This consortium of which TruthSpeaks Innovation Foundation is a founding member, was established to create a new philanthropic model and framework that will increase investments for Black girls and women in the south. It is a 10-year and $100 Million initiative. After a one-year planning phase, LaTosha has already raised the first $10 Million commitment. Currently less than 1% of philanthropic dollars support women and girls in the south. This will be a game changer and will be the first fund of its kind in the country dedicated solely to Black girls and women. Thus far, the consortium has already had major impact even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. They have already allocated close to $500,000 in resources that will directly fund Black girls and women organizations in the south.

Most people know Ms. Brown because she is an award-winning strategic planner, philanthropic consultant, facilitator, and project manager with thirty years of experience working in the non-profit and philanthropy sectors on a wide variety of issues related to social justice, economic development, leadership development, rural development and civic engagement. Although the world is beginning to know LaTosha R. Brown for her work as the Co-Founder of Black Voters Matter Fund and Black Voters Matter Capacity Building Institute; however, she has always been a powerhouse.

As a native of Alabama, Ms. Brown has dedicated her life’s work towards organizing resources, training and assisting the development and capacity building of community-based institutions in the global south. Over the past thirty years she has served both domestically and internationally as a master facilitator, political operative, strategic communications expert, fundraiser, and strategic investment advisor moving millions to communities doing frontline work.

Chanceé Lundy Russell

Position: Executive Team

Speaker. Author. Engineer. Community Servant. Chanceé is a community centered environmental engineer. She believes in the power of the people to create and implement change that benefits them. This Goldman Sachs 10ksb Alum, is the former co-founder of Nspiregreen, an award-winning planning and engineering firm. Although she recently sold her firm, after eleven years of impacting communities, she still believes the solution to eradicating environmental inequities lies in building coalitions between policy makers, advocates and activists, and practitioners.

Chanceé is a dynamic public speaker, who has spoken to 10,000+ crowds and participated in international leadership opportunities in Ghana; Mali; Bosnia, Herzegovina; Kenya; and China. Passionate about helping others understand the ins and outs of government contracting and business ownership she provides mentorship and teaches others so that they can overcome some of the obstacles she faced in owning and operating a service-oriented business.

As a native of Selma, Alabama and first-generation college student, Chanceé understands the very thin line that exists between success and failure and has committed to empowering the next generation of young women through her non-profit, Destination Liberation. Through this organization, Chanceé provides international educational experiences to southern Black girls who otherwise would not be afforded the opportunity to travel, learn history, and become immersed in a different culture. In addition, she compiled an anthology targeted high school aged girls entitled “It’s Just High School: Inspiring Reflections of the Beauty, Pain and Pressure of High School Life.”

She serves on the board of the Audubon Naturalist Society, the executive board of the Chesapeake Bay Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee, is a former National Chair of the National Society of Black Engineers, and member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She has been featured as one of Ebony Magazine’s 30 Leaders of the Future and US Black Engineer Top 100 Most Important Blacks in Technology.

Monica-Lynn is a multi-faceted powerhouse. As a well-respected Executive Entrepreneur, Business Consultant, and Activist, she is a certified Abundant Life Coach and CEO and founder of several global six and seven-figure businesses. Building businesses and empowering people is a part of her DNA; it comes naturally for her. She is currently an Executive Consultant for national and international brands with organizations. Additionally, she coaches self-motivated individuals, high achievers, business professionals, and entrepreneurs who won’t step into their authentic power and achieve their personal and professional dreams unapologetically.

Her experience expands from working in executive roles with the world’s leading-edge industries, such as beauty, entertainment, and pharmaceuticals, to consulting and developing mega-church brands, non-profit programs, and community organizing. Monica is a strategic thinking entrepreneur who has taken a single idea, created it into a small business, and grew her ideas into multi-million-dollar brands. Monica knows how to help you take your concepts and manifest them into reality.

This Goldman Sachs 10K Small Business Alum is a visionary leader who grew a neighborhood salon into a national brand, generating over 2.1 million dollars in sales annually – developed stylists, administrative, and marketing teams. She organized and developed hair industry conventions and conferences that attracted more than 6,000 attendees and developed a database of more than 40,000 beauty industry enthusiasts and professionals. Ms. Green designed a Professional Development program for beauty and barber entrepreneurs with an emphasis on training, customer care, networking, and mentoring as well as established partnerships with local school districts and community organizations to promote beauty and barber career technical education and workforce development.
